Halki

Halki is a very Greek, very unspoilt, island lying off the west coast of Rhodes. You get your first glimpse from the coastal road to Kameiros Skala (the port from which the Halki ferry leaves Rhodes Island). Your destination is a mountainous land, just three miles wide and seven miles long, with a crusader castle sitting on its peak

There is only one settlement on the island, and that is the small fishing village, with its tiers of Venetian-style stone houses built into the steep crescent which forms the picturesque, natural harbour. Painted in pastel shades, or left in their natural stone, the architectural style of these houses enhances the stunning view as the ferry approaches the island. The total absence of ugly, concrete high-rise lets you know you are in for a treat!
